Glasgow Networking Meeting
Kathryn Stevens, MSc, MA. NHS Therapist and Private Counsellor.
The original Pluralistic Practice Network group was formed over in Dundee to create networking opportunities, peer support and encourage practitioners to share experience and expertise. Being able to meet with and discuss any issues in your practice, or thoughts about theory, was a key part of the network, and we would love to keep that going. Unfortunately, with various committee members work commitments and relocation’s the face to face networking meetings aren’t happening as regularly, but the international and digital networking has grown wonderfully through social media and this blog.
It would be great if the face to face meetings could continue, and there has already been interest from practitioners in Dundee, London and Aberdeen in setting up local networking groups. It would be fantastic to have lots of localised networking groups, so if you would like support setting one up, or would like to use the blog to gauge interest then please do let us know and we can try and connect practitioners together.
Some of the original committee members and other practitioners have now moved over to the west of Scotland and are keen on beginning networking meetings in Glasgow. We aim to have one in March 2020 in Glasgow city centre in one of the community project rooms of the beautiful Mackintosh at the Willow. The cost of this will be around £3.50 per person to cover refreshments (teas, coffees and biscuits) and we are thinking to have a half day meeting (around 3 hours). This is of course open to anyone with an interest in Pluralism and we would love it if some of those who used to attend in Dundee could come along. If this is something you would be interested in, again please also let us know and we can then send out some more solid plans once we get an idea of numbers. This first meeting will largely be looking at what the group wants to get from a networking group, and how as a group we can best meet this.
In the meantime, there is of course the 3rd International Conference for Pluralistic Counselling and Psychotherapy to be held in Dublin on 28th-29th March 2020! If you haven’t already, you can sign up for it here.
If you want more information about the Glasgow group, or you would like support setting one up in your area, you can drop us an email on pluralisticpractice@gmail.com.

Hi,
I’m currently a second year student studying MSc Pluralistic counselling in abertay Dundee and would be very interested in meeting some colleagues here in Glasgow.
Warmest regards,
Denise Tierney
Wonderful, I hope you’re enjoying the Abertay course! I’ll be putting up a blog post once we have a date, but if you would like to be emailed out once it’s confirmed you can get in touch on pluralisticpractice@gmail.com
Hi yes! I’m interested in attending the event in Glasgow, although I have a couple of residentials during March, but if I’m here and available, I would love to attend!
Fab, if you could email your interest over to pluralisticpractice@gmail.com we’ll get back in touch once we have a date. Although I’m planning on putting a blog post up once we have a date so you should get a notification if you’re subscribed.
Sounds great. Maybe we’ll get one in Brighton one day.
Hi – I’d be really interested in connecting with the group and in attending the networking meeting in Glasgow – please let me know how I can go about this?
Thanks,
Dianne
